Job summary

Modjeski and Masters, Inc. in New Orleans, LA is seeking entry level Structural Bridge Design Engineers. Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 0–4 years of bridge design experience.

EI certification is preferred or obtainable. You will review design calculations, perform analyses with software such as LUSAS and RISA-3D, and prepare preliminary CAD details for contract plans.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Entry Level (0–4 years related bridge design experience).
• Ideal candidates will have a valid EI certification, or be in the process of obtaining.

Responsibilities

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
