Job summary

Modjeski and Masters, a leading bridge engineering firm in New Orleans, seeks experienced Civil/Structural Bridge Design Engineers. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) with 4–10 years of bridge design experience; Louisiana PE license preferred or near-term licensure.

Roles include performing design, analysis, CAD development, and project leadership on complex bridge projects. Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and contribute to a dynamic team.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • 4–10 years related Bridge Design Experience (mid-level).
  • Senior level positions with 10+ years of bridge design experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have a LA PE license or be within 6 months of licensure.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Review and check standard structural design calculations.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for contract plans.
  • Provide information for design reports.
  • Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
  • Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
  • Review and check drawings.
  • Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
  • Able to apply design specifications including AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI.
  • Lead projects and assist PMs in issue resolution.
  • Senior Engineers serve as technical leaders on complex projects.
  • Senior Engineers responsible for project delivery.

What We’re Looking For
  • At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
  • Mid-Level positions are available
  • 4-10 years related Bridge Design Experience
  • Ideal candidate will have a valid PE license in the state of Louisiana, or will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license
  • Senior Level positions are available
  • 10 + years related Bridge Design Experience
  • Ideal candidate will have a valid Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of Louisiana.
What You’ll Do
