Job summary

Ability-Builders-Consulting-Co. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician/Direct Therapist to organize data collection, assist with behavioral assessments, and support clinical activities across home, school, and community settings.

The role involves leading therapy duties in the absence of the lead therapist and collaborating with staff and parents. Required are a high school diploma, 60 college credits with higher education preferred, and experience with children with autism.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism preferred.
• 1 year clinical/home/school direct services experience.
• Willing to learn early learning curriculum and behavioral principles.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data based on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist in maintaining graphs and calculating data.
• Write progress notes and program updates; create session materials.
• Support implementation of baseline, treatment, parent training, and generalization sessions.
• Prepare and clean up session areas and equipment.
• Assist with protocol dissemination and staff/parent training.
• Use safe handling procedures when transporting or working with clients.
• Provide direct client care, one-on-one or in groups, per protocols.
• Shadow or co-treat and treat 2–4 hours per week.
• Report parent concerns to the lead therapist.
• Report suspected child abuse within 24 hours.
