Job summary

Ability-Builders-Consulting-Co. is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician/ Direct Therapist to organize and maintain data, assist with assessments and program implementation, and support staff/parents. The position includes direct client care and potential lead therapist duties during absences.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (60 college credits) or higher, experience with Autism-related services, and strong interpersonal skills. Travel to various sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a reputable clinic, home, or school program is highly desirable.
• 1 year clinical/home/school experience providing direct services to children with Autism, training parents, and supervising staff in the implementation of intervention protocols
• Willing to learn about an early learning curriculum and the application of behavioral principles to increase a wide range of functional repertoires
• Exceptional interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Therapists should be willing to work with children who range from high functioning to low functioning ASD and assist in clinical program implementation in home, school, and community environments.
• Motivated, excellent work ethic, high degree of quality work and ability to work with minimal direction.
• Able to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic, fast paced environment; flexible and patient.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data based on observable client behavior.
• Assist lead therapist in maintaining up to date graphs, summarizing and calculating data.
• Write progress notes, program updates, create session materials and stimuli, maintain program books.
• Actively participate in the implementation of baseline, treatment, parent training, and generalization sessions.
• Assist lead therapist in preparation and clean-up of session related activities (preparing client room, computers, recording equipment).
• Assist with case related duties such as protocol dissemination, protocol reviews and staff/parent training.
• Utilize safe handling procedures when transporting or working with clients.
• Provide direct client care following prescribed behavioral protocols/programs, one-on-one or in group settings.
• Assume lead therapist responsibilities in the temporary absence of the lead therapist.
• Shadow/co-treat/treat a minimum of 2-4 contact hours per week.
• Report parent concerns and highlights to the lead therapist on the case.
• Report any suspected child abuse within 24 hours.
