Job summary

BeaconFire Inc., based in Central NJ, seeks motivated Software Engineers to build scalable backend applications and AI-powered solutions. The role centers on Java-based enterprise backend development with opportunities in Generative AI; candidates with Java, C++, C#, Kotlin or other OO languages are encouraged to apply.

The team will develop RESTful services, work with SQL/NoSQL databases, and implement AI features using Spring AI and LangChain4j.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with one or more OOP programming languages, including Java, C++, C#, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Willingness to transition into Java-based backend development and Generative AI.
• Interest in learning and applying Generative AI and LLM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable and production-ready backend applications and services.
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using modern software engineering practices.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL-based data management.
• Apply object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles to solve technical problems.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and optimization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and deployment procedures.
• Support production deployment, monitoring/observability, CI/CD, security, and performance optimization.
• Transition and apply existing programming experience to Java-based enterprise backend development.
