Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Junior AV Engineer to join its Northeast AV Engineering team in Andover, MA. This onsite, 6-month contract-to-hire role offers training and exposure to full AV project lifecycles across commercial offices, education, and healthcare environments.

The ideal candidate comes from IT support, AV tech, or engineering backgrounds and is eager to learn. You’ll collaborate with Systems Engineers, Project Managers, Sales, and Field Technicians to grow in a structured mentorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Windows-based environments
• Interest in technology and willingness to learn new systems
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of audiovisual systems for conference rooms, training spaces, classrooms, and corporate environments
• Support engineers in creating proposals, equipment lists, and project documentation
• Help coordinate projects with drafting and design teams
• Participate in client meetings to gather project requirements
• Review and update system drawings and documentation
• Attend project site visits to document construction progress and identify installation considerations
• Stage and test AV equipment before deployment
• Support installation teams with technical questions and troubleshooting
• Research products and assist with technical solution development
• Work with teams across engineering, sales, project management, and field operations
