Job summary

Curative in Austin, TX is seeking a Junior Actuary to support pricing and portfolio strategy across sales, underwriting and operations. You will help with data analysis, pricing support, and portfolio management while gaining hands-on experience in a fast‑growing health insurance company.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with strong analytical and Excel skills, working toward ASA designation, and eager to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive Curative’s growth and improve member

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Able to translate actuarial/data/financial analyses into clear results and implications.
• Coordinate and manage matrix stakeholders across teams to execute on projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing pricing strategies to support growth and profitability goals.
• Collaborate with senior actuaries to refine underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Analyze Curative data (claims, member interactions) to support pricing and strategy decisions.
• Help calculate group rates for new business and renewals based on group experience, location, and demographics.
• Prepare executive reports on actuarial and financial metrics.
• Maintain communication with internal teams to support actuarial projects and initiatives.
• Support day-to-day actuarial tasks and ad-hoc analysis.
• Assist on high-priority underwriting requests as needed.
• Performs other projects in support of the company.
