Job summary

Cityblock Health, Inc. seeks an Actuarial Associate, Growth to join the Growth Actuary team, focusing on pricing for value-based care partnerships. This role contributes to underwriting analytics, partner data evaluation, and pricing model development for prospective markets.

Collaborating with Growth, Finance, and Valuation Actuary teams, you will translate contract terms into pricing and risk insights while building scalable analytics for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of healthcare data experience with PMPM, MLR, or risk scores.
• Strong SQL skills including joins, subqueries, aggregations, and CTEs.
• Basic understanding of Medicare and Medicaid program mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting and pricing analyses for new and existing partner deals, including development of MLR targets.
• Write and maintain SQL queries to pull, join, and manipulate partner claims, eligibility, and revenue data.
• Build and maintain Excel/Sheets-based underwriting models and analytical exhibits.
• Develop and apply an understanding of Medicare and Medicaid program mechanics, underwriting selection criteria, and MLR/risk-contract structures.
• Actively participate in peer review of technical work and provide technical review support to teammates.
• Communicate analytical results and data findings clearly to internal stakeholders, escalating upcoming challenges proactively.
