Curative is reimagining health insurance with straightforward pricing and $0 out-of-pocket costs. We are seeking a Junior Actuary to support pricing and portfolio strategy, combining traditional actuarial work with operational ownership and cross-team collaboration.

This is a great entry point for a recent graduate to begin a career in actuarial science. Based in Austin, TX, you will work with Sales, Account Management, Underwriting, and Operations to drive Curative’s growth and success while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related quantitative field.
• Experience with Excel is required.
• Health insurance industry, data analysis or data management experience a plus.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is a plus.
• Progress toward ASA designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing strategies to support growth and profitability goals.
• Collaborate with senior actuaries to refine underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Analyze Curative data (claims, member interactions) to support pricing and strategy decisions.
• Help calculate group rates for new business and renewals based on group experience, location, and demographics.
• Prepare executive reports on actuarial and financial metrics.
• Maintain communication with internal teams to support actuarial projects and initiatives.
• Support day-to-day actuarial tasks and ad-hoc analysis.
• Assist on high-priority underwriting requests (peer review, rate build-up).
• Perform other projects and duties as required.
