Job summary

Fairstead ESC LLC is seeking a Junior Accountant to support full-cycle accounting, cash and treasury operations, and monthly/annual financial reporting across a multi-entity portfolio. You will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and tax filings under senior staff guidance.

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Expensify, NetSuite, Bill.com, and Yardi is valuable. We value accuracy, initiative, and clear communication as you help maintain controls, prepare ad-hoc reports, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Expensify, NetSuite, or Bill.com preferred; exposure to Yardi a plus.
• Solid foundational reconciliation and bookkeeping skills, with the ability to stay organized across multiple entities and deadlines.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with entity stakeholders, bank relationship managers, and outside tax preparers under senior staff guidance.
• Advanced Excel skills; Smartsheet a plus.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close across multiple entities, including GL activity, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and amortization.
• Assist with tax preparations and state compliance filings; liaise with tax preparer for returns.
• Provide ad-hoc reports for operations and management.
• Perform accounts payable actions in Bill.com; input, code, and allocate invoices; assist with 1099 reporting.
• Review employee expense reimbursements submitted via Expensify; ensure receipts align with policy.
• Review monthly invoicing procedures and ensure timely collections.
• Assist with daily cash positions, payroll funding, and weekly payment runs.
• Maintain bank portal access and document controls; assist with liquidity reporting and reconciliations.
• Open new bank accounts for new entities or projects and support KYC requirements.
