Job summary

NexCore Group is seeking a qualified accountant to manage monthly and quarterly financial statements under U.S. GAAP. You will handle full-cycle accounting, intercompany eliminations, and close processes for the Denver area.

The role requires strong Excel skills and familiarity with Yardi and FloQast. 2+ years in real estate or corporate accounting is expected; Bachelor’s in Accounting is required and CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA preferred but not mandatory.
• 2+ years of real estate or corporate accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Close books: journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations and consolidations.
• Maintain schedules for key balances (depreciation, amortization, P&L allocations).
• Execute monthly close to align with the company calendar and quality standards.
• Reconcile intercompany charges and assist with expense system administration.
• Backfill positive pay and revenue billings; process wires and ACH postings.
• Complete ad hoc accounting projects as needed.

Job description

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reporting packages, for internal and external parties, ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare full-cycle journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and consolidation entries (including inter-entity eliminations).
• Maintain accurate schedules for key account balances, such as depreciation and amortization schedules, profit and loss allocations, and various accounting details.
• Execute processes for the monthly close cycle to comply with company financial close calendar while ensuring high-quality work products, free of errors or significant rework
• Review and reconcile intercompany/cross-entity charges including fees, reimbursement allocations, shared services.
• Ensure all associated transactions/coding, daily cash receipts, and miscellaneous bank activity are recorded accurately and timely.
• Assist in the administration of the company’s expense management system and assist in refining accounting team’s process and procedures for accurate recording of company expenses
• Be able to backfill and assist with positive pay for corporate entities as well as revenue billings
• Create wires, transfers and standard ACH posting
• Complete or review ad hoc projects as needed

Education:

Bachelor's Degree - Accounting required

CPA - preferred

Work Experience:

• 2+ years of real estate industry experience or corporate accounting experience

Skills:

• Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Real estate accounting, corporate accounting, or public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with Yardi preferred
• Experience with FloQast preferred
• Intermediate-advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
• Strong planning and organizational skills required
• Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 / year
