Job summary

Ascend Talent Solutions is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to manage financial reporting and assist the management team with accounting insights. The role supports revenue and expense alignment with budgets on a monthly basis.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in commercial real estate accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and CRE systems like Yardi, MRI, or Timberline.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounting experience in commercial real estate.
• Knowledge of GAAP and FASB principles.
• Extensive knowledge of accounts payable, receivables, budgets, and expenditure control.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRE software (Yardi, MRI, Timberline).

Responsibilities

• Managing Accounts Payable: coding and entering invoices, ensuring data accuracy and backing.
• Managing Accounts Receivable: aging, collections, rent data accuracy.
• Posting transactions to subsidiary accounts; preparing journal entries for accruals.
• Reviewing expense reports and budget variances; ensuring approvals.
• Preparing reports and analysis on revenues, expenditures, P&L, and related items.
• Assisting with variance explanations and annual business plan prep.
• Assisting with reconciliations and tenant/vendor billings end of period.
• Cash management maintenance and reporting.
