Job summary

Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions' client, a global freight forwarder, seeks a Junior Staff Accountant in Jericho, NY for a full-time, in-person role. You will support daily accounting tasks, credit control, and reconciliation to ensure accurate financials and a smooth month-end close.

You will collaborate with an HQ accounting team of 5 and multiple branches, using CODA, Descartes (ONEVIEW), CargoWise, Excel, Word, and Outlook to process AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and settlements, reporting to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables), Word, and Outlook; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Credit management: monitor customer accounts and credit control.
• Process AP and AR; handle financial transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure record accuracy.
• Coordinate overseas settlements with international offices and agents.
• Assist with financial reporting for the Accounting Manager.
