Job summary

Trace Systems Inc. in Scott AFB, IL is seeking a JRSS Network Engineer I to provide network engineering support for DISA-provided JRSS capabilities in a 24x7 Global Network Support Center.

Responsibilities include planning, designing, and evaluating DISA Enterprise Network components, diagnosing and resolving network issues, and working with the engineering team to specify network architectures and assess new technologies. Requires DoD-8570 IAT Level II and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Active, in-scope US Government Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top-Secret
• US Citizenship is required
• DoD-8570 IAT Level II certification at time of start
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts
• Experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and service restoration
• Expertise in routers, switches, CISCO, Juniper
• General understanding of network topologies

Responsibilities

• Provide overall network engineering support for customer programs including planning, designing, and evaluating components of the DISA Enterprise Network.
• Solve routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.
• Work with Engineering to specify network architecture, evaluate new technologies, and perform needs assessments.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues through monitoring, testing, and servicing equipment.
