Job summary

Waterbury Public Schools is seeking a Teacher (ROTC-Army) to develop and implement JROTC training and professional development for instructors. The role involves coordinating district-wide co-curricular activities, planning schedules and maintaining cadet records.

The candidate will report to the Principal or higher administrator, possess a valid CT teaching certificate and JROTC endorsement, and work within the Teaching and Learning department in Waterbury.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
• CT state teaching certificate plus 210 Non-Senior Military Instructors or 310 JROTC Advanced Instructor endorsement required.
• Background check and credentials verification are required prior to appointment.
• Incumbents may need a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate JROTC training and professional development for instructors.
• Create master and weekly training schedules for the district schools.
• Coordinate district-wide co-curricular activities and events.
• Maintain cadet records and training documentation.
• Prepare reports, correspondence and manage administrative tasks.
