Job summary

Bright Minds Academy in Topeka, KS is seeking a Junior PreK Assistant Teacher to support children ages 2.5-4 alongside the Lead Teacher. You will help implement activities, support transitions, and provide individualized attention to learners, fostering early love of learning and helping children build friendships.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with preschool-age children preferred.
  • Knowledge of preschool development and play-based learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily learning activities
  • Supervise children during classroom, art, music, and outdoor play activities
  • Support transitions between activities and maintain smooth classroom routines
  • Prepare materials and set up learning centers for activities
  • Observe and report on children's progress and behavior
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Provide support to individual children with activities and social skills
  • Communicate with Lead Teacher and parents about the day's activities and progress
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings
