Job summary

Open Minds Child Development Center in Olathe, KS is seeking a Pre-K Teacher. This role is full- or part-time, with a salary range of $18.00–$21.00 per hour. You will collaborate with fellow teachers to implement daily lesson plans, engage families, and foster a positive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates are organized, caring, and eager to support children and families through effective instruction, communication, and community involvement, including monthly High Scope curriculum trainings.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Degree in related field with ECE hours.
• Minimum one year of experience in a licensed child care facility.
• Proficiency with classroom technology (IPads, laptops).

Responsibilities

• Make a difference daily and work with teachers to ensure consistency throughout the program.
• Collaborate on daily lesson plans that challenge students at all levels.
• Communicate daily with parents through face-to-face, email, daily sheets, etc.
• Work with and perform duties assigned by your lead teacher.
• Represent Open Minds in a professional manner.
• Build positive relationships in surrounding communities.
• Be a positive role model for your students.
• Effectively manage your classroom/age group.
• Attend monthly curriculum training (High Scope).

Salary Ranges

$18.00-$21.00 per/hour

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Possess an Associates Degree or Bachelors degree. We may accept a degree in a related field with at least 12 hours in child development or early childhood education.
• At least one year of experience working in a licensed child care facility.
• Proficiency with classroom technology (IPads, laptops, etc.)
• Ability to sit, stoop, bend to low level positions that best allow interactions with the students
• Current CPR and First Aid training
• Pass pre-employment screening and fingerprint background check

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to lift 40 lbs is strongly desired, and may be required in some classrooms
• Lead Teacher Qualifications Include: 6 months teaching experience OR 3 semester hours in ECE or Child Dev Curriculum AND 3 months teaching experience **Open Minds will over the cost of your certification
