As a Junior Accountant, you will report to the Accounting Manager and assist with various accounting duties within established deadlines. The Staff Accountant provides a wide range of customer services for school locations.

How You Will Impact Education

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple entities, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reviews, and variance summaries.
• Support documentation for financial statements, including schedules and reconciliations.
• Work with auditors during annual audits, preparing schedules and explanations.
• Post accounts to the General Ledger: Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursements, Payroll.
• Maintain records of financial documents and update as necessary.
• Communicate professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and schools.
• Follow all regulations, policies, and work procedures.
• Support the annual budget process with schedules and data.

Required Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping or relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism.
• Knowledge of school and charter law is a plus.

Job Requirements

• Physical ability to perform light work, with occasional travel.
• Exempt from overtime under FLSA.
