Job summary

GILLIG is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician (Journeyperson Maintenance Mechanic) in Livermore, CA. The role covers troubleshooting electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment across conveyors, motors, and presses.

You will read mechanical/electrical diagrams and work with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and related automation components. The position requires a strong problem-solving mindset, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a commitment to

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
3–5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Strong electrical maintenance skills including 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, controls, and troubleshooting.
Ability to problem solve and demonstrate competency by passing skill tests.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair processing/manufacturing equipment: Air Compressors, Conveyors, Industrial Fans, Electric Motors, Gear Boxes, etc.
Read and interpret mechanical/electrical diagrams and manuals.
Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery including VFDs, gearboxes, and pumps.
Follow safety policies; promote plant safety and productivity.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and work with minimal supervision.
