Job summary

Castle Subaru in Chesterton, IN is seeking a Journeyman Technician (Non-Union) to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.

You will test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and service equipment to identify issues and ensure customer safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Certified journeyman or master technician with ASE certification.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and test components.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles.
• Test-drive vehicles and verify engine, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C systems.
• Identify automotive issues to ensure safety and satisfaction.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

As a Journeyman Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning. You’ll work to identify any automotive issues to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. You will test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Previous experience as a certified, master, or journeyman technician
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• ASE Certification required with A-level qualifications
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
