Job summary

Castle CDJR Chesterton is seeking a Journeyman Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

You will work on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning, using diagnostic tools and test equipment to ensure quality service.

Qualifications

• Certified technician with journeyman or master status.
• Able to operate diagnostic equipment and read manuals.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and safe driving history.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes and air conditioning.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and service equipment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

As a Journeyman Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning. You'll work to identify any automotive issues to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. You will test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Previous experience as a certified, master, or journeyman technician
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• ASE Certification required with A-level qualifications
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
