Job summary

The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is seeking a Journeyman Technician at Arlington Heights CDJR. This role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles to dealer and factory standards in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on building customer trust through reliable service.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of journeyman experience, a self-motivated approach, and willingness to complete training and certifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Journeyman Technician experience.
• Self-starter and process-driven.
• Willing to undergo a background check and be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, and climate control systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or non-mechanics.
• Continuously update technical skills through formal training to stay current with automotive tech.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat service bay.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

This is an exciting opportunity in a growing, fast-paced industry.Located at Arlington Heights CDJR, theJourneyman Technicianisresponsiblefor vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. This position will build Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in Napleton through effective vehicle diagnosis and repair.

Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

• Adequate explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers as required.

• Continuously update technical skills and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

• Maintains an organized and neat service bay

• Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman Technician required.

• Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is process-driven

• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations

• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
