Job summary

E&M Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA in support of JWAC. The JWAC provides engineering and scientific analysis to military commanders and government officials to advance national security.

This role involves DevSecOps and full-stack development across Linux and Windows environments. The candidate will work on agile software development, contribute to solutions of moderate scope, and collaborate with junior staff.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working on software development teams
• 1+ years of experience with scripting and/or programming (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, C#, or Java)
• 1+ years of experience with version control systems
• Experience with system automation via PowerShell, Ansible, or Bash
• Experience with deploying applications and CI/CD tools, including GitLab
• Experience with application containerization
• Knowledge of programming fundamentals, concepts, and language mechanics
• HS diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+, within 30 days of start date
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have and be able to maintain a DoD security clearance at appropriate level

Responsibilities

• Performs implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for agile software development to modernize systems.
• Applies specific functional knowledge, working/general industry knowledge.
• DevSecOps experience from an OS and Software Development perspective.
• Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Works independently with some guidance; may review or guide activities of more junior employees.
• Concentrates on using both back-end and front-end languages to build complete solutions.
• Area of Focus Skills - Software Engineer job family aligned skills plus: Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, Git, .NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL, SDLC, Web Front End Development, Back-End Development, API Development, UI UX, Angular JS, React.js, AWS tools. Knowledge of Linux and Windows Administration a plus.
