Job summary

AMEWAS, headquartered in California, Maryland, seeks a Software Developer (DevOps)-Journeyman to support the Joint Simulation Environment product suite. You will work on Windows and Linux, developing automated build/test services and integrating software into flight simulators for pilot training.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance with onboarding to DoD Top Secret, a bachelor’s degree in CS/CE, and experience in Git, GitLab CI/Jenkins, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field with 3 years of software build and scripting experience
• Security clearance: DoD Secret; onboarding: DoD Top Secret clearance
• 3 years of Software/IT/Systems Engineer experience building and maintaining automated development environments
• Proficiency with configuration management systems (Git)
• Proficiency with integration tools (GitLab CI or Jenkins)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Batch, and/or Python)
• Experience with container tech (Docker and Podman)

Responsibilities

• Supports DevOps Team Lead by developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment
• Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training
• Supports software development, integration, and distribution
• Directs team personnel in day-to-day tasking and manages expectations for deliverables
• Ensures customer satisfaction and reports risks to leadership
• Maintains and reports on automated build/test services status
• Develops/integrates tools to improve developer efficiency
• Promotes best practices to team and leadership
• Collaborates to maintain strong security posture on systems
