Job summary

Sunset Ford of Waterloo is seeking an experienced or journeyman Service Technician to join our team. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automotive systems, inspecting vehicles for safety, and providing accurate repair estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Technician or Journeyman level preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with automotive repair knowledge.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and safety.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Inspects vehicle for safety and maintenance needs (brakes, tires, etc.).
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Provides time estimates for repairs and completes warranty work per manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Inspects vehicle for safety and maintenance needs such as worn brakes or tires.
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
• Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• Previousexperience as a Service Technician
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Ability to learn quickly and provide top-notch customer service
