Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a journeyman pipefitter for Port Arthur, TX. The role requires 5+ years in industrial construction, basic rigging, and proficiency with small power tools. Reading isometrics and piping diagrams is essential, with 3+ years in testing and commissioning of piping systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman pipefitter.
• Basic rigging skills.
• Proficient in the use of small power tools (e.g. die grinder, right angle grinder).
• Able to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings.
• Able to read piping & instrument diagrams (preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in the testing and commissioning of piping systems.
• Capable of efficiently planning work.
• Capable of weld joint preparation to meet project codes and standards.
• Proficient in pipe lay-out.
• Threads pipe using a threading machine.
• Able to read and comprehend support details/drawings.
• May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
• Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
• Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work from heights as necessary.
• Adheres to all safety procedures.
• Understand the use of all types of personal fall arrest systems.
• Able to access scaffold.
