Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent may be required.
• Ability to understand and translate written instructions into precise work.
• Proficient with electrical, hand and power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds with high precision."
• Lay-out and assemble pipes according to production standards, quality requirements, safety rules, codes, designs and specs.
• Make welding repairs and address substandard welds.
• Assist with Pre-Fabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry tools and equipment.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specs and take corrective action.
