Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Mississippi seeks a skilled pipefitter to plan, lay out, install, test and repair piping systems in accordance with plans, specs, codes and standards. You will read isometrics, fabricate and install piping, and support equipment on construction sites.

The role requires knowledge of butt welded, socket welded and threaded joints, the safe use of hand and power tools, and the ability to work extended hours in sometimes challenging environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Strong working knowledge of pipe systems and related tools.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical, hand, power and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of various pipe types and joints.
• Read isometrics, take measurements, fabricate and install piping.
• Align, bolt and clamp components for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings and related equipment by welding and threading joints.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, pumps, pipe and supports.
• Hydro test piping systems.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities; determine time, costs and materials.
• Inspect workers' output for compliance and correct deficiencies.
