Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative is seeking a maintenance technician to perform safe and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical equipment at our power plant facilities in the MO region. The role includes repairing mechanical systems, machining, welding, and interpreting technical drawings.

You will be responsible for working at heights and using machine shop tools while maintaining a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn all components of the power plant.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in heavy industrial mechanical repair, with two years performing machinist duties.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals.
• Required to work from heights.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently for power plant maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and structures at the plant and coal-handling areas.
• Perform machining, rigging, welding, piping, and related tasks to ensure proper operation and appearance of equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of machine shop equipment and precision instruments.
