Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative in Missouri is seeking a seasoned machinist to operate and maintain plant equipment safely and efficiently, supporting a diverse range of mechanical systems across the power generation network.

You will read prints and technical manuals, perform machining, welding, piping, and rigging, and work at heights; a high school diploma and at least five years in heavy industrial mechanical repair (two years as machinist) are required, plus pre-employment testing; we offer

• Minimum of five years' experience in heavy industrial mechanical repair with two of those years' performing machinist duties.
• Pre-employment tests including AECI machining tests pre and post hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Demonstrate a strong mechanical ability and willingness to learn all components of the entire power plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and structures around the power plant.
• Perform machining, rigging, welding, piping, lubricating, insulating, painting, and cleaning to ensure proper operation and appearance of equipment and grounds.
• Read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals.
• Work from heights as required.

Whatyou'lldo:

• Perform safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools necessary to perform maintenance on electrical equipment.

• Maintain,troubleshootand repair mechanical equipment and structures in and around the power plant including but is not limited to steam generators, turbine generators, electrical generators, compressors, pumps, fans, vehicles, tractors, all coal handing equipment, valves,andpiping.

• Perform machining,rigging, welding, piping, lubricating, insulating, painting,cleaningand any other work toassureproper operation and appearance of equipment, structures, and grounds.

• Possess knowledge of machine shop equipment as well as precision instruments.

• Required to read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals.

• Required to work from heights.

Whatyou'llneed:

• Minimum of five years' experience in heavy industrial mechanical repair with two of those years' performing machinist duties.

• Obtain a passing result from the applicable pre-employment test(s)including successfully completing the established AECImachiningtest(s) pre and post hire.
