Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to join our on-site team in Alaska.

You will perform essential construction work on our diesel generation and distribution systems and respond to outages to restore power quickly for our Members. The role requires strong safety practices, a minimum of five years in electrical power distribution, a State of Alaska Journeyman Power Lineman certification, and completion of a lineman apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in electrical power distribution.
• Preference for rural Alaska experience.
• Journeyman Power Lineman certification from the State of Alaska.
• Successful completion of a lineman apprenticeship program.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Organize, direct, and perform essential construction work on-site to support diesel generation and distribution systems.
• Respond swiftly to outages and emergencies to restore power promptly.
• Identify and correct operational issues and perform maintenance on distribution systems and power plants, following strict safety protocols.
