Job summary

R.B. Hinkle is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to join our team in the field. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission lines, ensuring safe operation and timely outage restoration.

The ideal candidate has a Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship, a Class A CDL, and at least 4 years of hands-on experience. You will train apprentices and work in varying weather, with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
• Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical theory and distribution/transmission systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair power lines and cables on poles, towers, and underground conduits.
• Perform emergency repairs and restoration of power during outages.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and line equipment.
• Read schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
• Ensure safety with PPE and company policies.
• Inspect and test electrical systems for hazards and defects.
• Mentor apprentice linemen as needed.
• Maintain records of work, materials, and time spent.
• Work in various weather and be on-call for emergencies.
