Job summary

R.B. Hinkle Construction Inc in Sterling, Virginia is seeking a skilled Underground Journeyman Lineman to install, maintain, and repair underground electrical power distribution systems.

You will work with conduit, vaults, transformers, and associated equipment, following blueprints and safety standards. Qualifications include a recognized Lineman apprenticeship, a valid Journeyman Lineman certification, and a Class A CDL with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Lineman apprenticeship program.
• Valid Journeyman Lineman certification.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Journeyman Lineman focused on underground systems.
• CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, safety practices and problem solving.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair underground conductors, cables, and equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders; troubleshoot underground systems.
• Operate trenchers, excavators, and cable pullers; ensure safety standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
• Mentor apprentices and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Work overtime weekends as needed.
