Job summary

The City of Wisconsin Dells is hiring a skilled Journeyman Lineman to help operate, maintain, and build out the electric power distribution system. The role requires safety‑aware work habits and journeyman certification, with hours Monday–Friday 7am–4pm and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities include construction and maintenance of the distribution network, street lighting, hot line work, substation operations, and equipment upkeep. A CDL and active journeyman status are essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification required.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and CDL.
• Lineman continuing education and safety training.
• Experience or training demonstrating knowledge to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system above and below ground.
• Assist with street lighting maintenance.
• Perform hot line work from bucket truck or pole with climbing equipment.
• Assist with water system construction and maintenance.
• Conduct sub-station switching and operations.
• Assist in maintenance of trucks and equipment.
• Maintain inventory control and follow safety protocols.
• Attend required training.
• Tree trimming around power lines.
• Other duties as directed by Lead Lineman or Director of Public Works.
