Job summary

City of Stoughton is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to join its Utility Division, serving the local area with a focus on reliability and resilience. This essential role includes standby duties and after-hours responses, with a commitment to community service and safety.

The successful candidate will work in the field, travel within the service area, and maintain equipment while adhering to strict safety standards. CDL endorsed professionals are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a four-year electrical lineman apprenticeship or equivalent.
• CDL with tanker and airbrake endorsements required.
• Certifications: CPR, First Aid, Hilti gun, forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Electrical distribution line construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Work in the field for extended periods.
• Accessing work areas via foot, ladder, or elevated platforms.
• Perform duties in varying and sometimes hazardous environments.
