Job summary

United Utility Services in Lexington, NC, is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to join our safety‑driven team providing reliable power delivery across the nation.

You will install, troubleshoot, repair and remove overhead and underground distribution lines, operate lifting and digging equipment, and supervise apprentices as needed to support Foreman goals. Qualifications include a CDL‑A, 4+ years on energized lines, and strong safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience working on and around energized high-voltage primary lines.
• CDL-A license with clear driving record is required.
• Ability to read and understand technical information, manuals, policies, and diagrams.
• Ability to handle emergencies and prioritize tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, troubleshoot, repair and remove overhead/underground distribution power lines.
• Operate bucket, digger and pickup trucks and related equipment.
• Provide on-the-job training for groundman, equipment operators and apprentices.
• Inspect equipment and initiate repairs or testing per procedures.
• Supervise workers and be prepared to assume Foreman duties when needed.
