Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking qualified personnel to build, repair, and maintain electrical transmission and distribution systems. The role involves climbing poles, working from bucket trucks, and servicing both overhead and underground lines with strict safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must live within 35 miles of service location.

Responsibilities

• Climbs poles or uses bucket to install or repair wires and hardware.
• Installs and repairs underground facilities and pedestal equipment.
• Installs pole hardware and auxiliary equipment (transformers, switches, fuses, insulators).
• Handles energized lines using rubber goods or hot sticks with safety gear.
• Performs standard line work and related tasks as assigned.
