Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Journeyman responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials for other trades. Duties include loading/unloading equipment, scaffolding work, concrete placement and finishing, and mentoring junior laborers.

Qualifications include a two-year apprenticeship and construction experience. Safety and teamwork are emphasized, with a note that visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of two-year apprenticeship program.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with power and non-powered tools such as vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts and skid loaders may be required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and debris removal (sweeping, washing, unloading).
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Provide work direction to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and levels.
