Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Laborer Journeyman to prepare, handle, and supply materials for other crafts. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, erecting scaffolding, leveling ground, tending mortar, and moving concrete.

The role supports mortar/grout work and concrete vibration, while guiding junior workers and maintaining safety. The union-backed position offers career development through a broad benefits program and requires completion of a two-year apprenticeship with construction

Qualifications

Two-year apprenticeship completion required.
Experience in construction preferred.
Ability to operate tools and equipment listed in the qualifications.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer-service skills.
Lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance when needed.

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
Level ground for scaffolding.
Tend mortar and grout.
Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
General cleanup and debris removal.
Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete; vibrate concrete.
Provide guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice.
Collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to duties as assigned.
