Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Virginia seeks a capable heavy equipment operator to operate power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material for road and rights-of-way projects. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment while maintaining roads and rights-of-way.
• Load materials and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Dig trenches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check fluid levels and lubrication; perform basic maintenance.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation when needed.
• Inspect equipment and identify defects or issues.
