Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Texas is seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Operator to maintain and improve roads and rights-of-way. You will operate a range of vehicles and heavy equipment, load materials, and assist with trenching and culvert installation.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read and follow instructions, communicate with supervision, and safely use tools.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation of construction equipment and skills.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects and causes of errors.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities needed for work tasks.
• Ensure work complies with plans and specifications and address deficiencies.
