Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water and sewer lines; remove silt and debris.
• Maintain fluids and lubricants; check equipment.
• Instruct and train other employees in safe operation and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify issues.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and resources needed for work.
• Review subordinate work for contract compliance and address deficiencies.
