Job summary

The Industrial Company in Texas seeks a skilled equipment operator to handle power construction equipment for excavation, grading, and material moving on roads and rights-of-way. You will load and spread gravel, dirt and rock, perform routine maintenance, and participate in safety training.

Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload. Previous field experience is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficient with tools and measurement devices used in construction.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes.
• Maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Train employees in safe operation and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment and materials to identify defects and address issues.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine resources needed for tasks.
• Ensure work complies with contract plans and specifications.
