Job summary

Amteck in Kentucky is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to install, alter and repair electrical systems under a Foreman, potentially supervising a small crew. You will work with conduit, devices, panels and drawings to deliver safe, reliable power for industrial and commercial settings.

Expect on‑the‑job training across divisions, overtime, and a culture built on safety and teamwork; you’ll demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude, read blueprints and mentor Helpers and Apprentices while growing

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and understand project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to lead and mentor helpers and apprentices on the job site.
• Demonstrate a team-player mentality and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting and reading project drawings and schematics.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Lay out small areas from drawings and documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and power circuits; mentor crew on site.
