Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking skilled electricians at the Pontiac, MI location to perform installation and repair work, mentor apprentices, and ensure safety compliance. The role requires hands-on experience with electrical systems and strong communication with clients and team members.

You will be responsible for maintaining equipment, managing materials, and providing guidance on preventative maintenance while prioritizing safety and regulatory standards on every project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience using power tools and construction equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and OSHA codes essential.

Responsibilities

• Coach and guide Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians on site.
• Obtain required equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
• Install and repair electrical systems as needed.
• Maintain electrical systems and identify potential issues.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical installations.
• Explain preventative maintenance measures to clients and team.
• Respond promptly during emergencies.
• Build relationships with clients and other electricians.
• Manage workload and OTJ training for Apprentices.
• Adhere to safety protocols and electrical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coaching, guiding and counseling other Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians
• Obtaining the required equipment, tools, and materials for projects
• Installing and repairing electrical systems
• Maintaining electrical systems by identifying and resolving potential issues
• Testing and troubleshooting electrical systems
• Reviewing and performing preventative maintenance measures and explaining these to clients and other electricians
• Responding promptly during emergencies
• Building relationships with clients and other Electricians
• Managing workload, tasks and on the job (OTJ) training of Apprentice Electricians
• Adhering to and modeling all safety protocols and electrical standards

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or similar
• A valid driver's license
• Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction
• Outstanding communication skills, including written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of health and OSHA codes

Physical Requirements

• Ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height
• Ability to work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment
• Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
• Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, push, pull, bend, stoop, crouch, and crawl
• Ability to successfully pass a 10-panel drug screen (as needed)
