Position Summary:

This position is a component of the Elite Fabrication shop and reports directly to the shop foreman. Incumbent will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a construction environment. Continually participate in ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit and personal job mastery. All jobs shall be conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

  • Define and oversee project scope and deliverables while managing the constraints.
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives and directly oversee project quality.
  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to contractual agreements and within budget.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
  • Ensure the implementation, communication, and endorsement of the health and safety policy.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
  • Always demonstrate a high personal example of health and safety standards and in all places.
  • Be familiar with the provisions of the OSHA and MSHA Health and Safety Acts, federal and state regulations as they apply to work areas under your control.
  • Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
  • Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by BLSE Management.
  • Mentor Apprentices from beginning to end of assignment to ensure quality work and facilitate learning.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and testing equipment to properly complete a job.
  • Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems. (These buildings will have various components that will need to be set in place have wire or cable ran to it via EMT, Rigid or cable tray and be wired. Various components such as power panels, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, HVAC, switchgear, motor control centers, outlets, light switches, transfer switches, power panels, PLC panels will need to be incorporated into the building's electrical system.)
  • Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
  • Help provide basic assistance to estimators regarding materials needed and hours needed to complete jobs.
  • Installation, preventive maintenance, operation and repair of electrical components around the shop.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level; Electrical schooling preferred.
  • Four (4) years electrical experience in a construction environment.
  • Valid Drivers License with safe driving record
  • Electrical Journeyman's license for state of work
  • Able to communicate effectively (ie reading, writing, speaking) in the English Language
  • Must display the following characteristics: Honest, Professional, Competent, Organized, Attention to Detail, Dependable, Thorough, Team Oriented, Safety Conscious and have a Strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional:

  • Able to provide your own hand tools.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Able to guide and direct an apprentice from beginning to end of a job.
  • Competent documentation skills
  • Able to work in both commercial and industrial environments.

Working Conditions:

Both mental and physical labor are a part of this job. Working conditions will be primarily indoor and on rare occasion the job may be outdoors and subject to extreme weather conditions. Traveling will be a rarity with the majority of work being done inside the Fort Collins shop. You need to be able to work in a shop with welding being performed, with loud noise and be able to lift up to 50lbs.
