Starting wage is $24.62 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential for off-shift schedule.
The wage is subject a 10 year progression schedule providing yearly increases until the top wage is met: Wage after 1 Year:$25.11; after 2 Years:$25.69; after 3 Years:$26.40; after 4 Years:$27.43; after 5 Years: $28.59; after 6 Years: $29.96; after 7 Years:$31.55; after 8 Years: $33.38; after 9 Years:$35.48 and after 10 Years: $37.87.
Position Summary:
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of all plant electrical components and services.
Major Responsibilities:
Maintain, install, repair and diagnose electrical systems AC/DC (up to 34.5kV).
Work with complex prints and schematics for plant utility systems.
Recommend modifications to utility lineup to Operations Facilitator to balance plant loads as necessary.
Maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of transformers, circuit breakers, cabling and building distribution ties, relaying, utility ties (Penelec), switchgear, emergency generators, drives, motors, battery stations, UPS systems, PLC controls, and all associated auxiliary equipment.
Utilize digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, megger, high pot, high voltage ground fault detector, current transformers, generators, low resistance ground detectors, relevant hand tools, PC to PLC interfacing, HMIs, rigid pipe benders and threaders.
Complete test and maintenance reports.
Service all types of complex automatically controlled equipment and integrated control systems consisting of combinations of electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components as applied on facilities and equipment.
Perform all tasks with minimal supervision involving thorough knowledge of difficult circuits, electrical measurements, and a general knowledge of electrical theory and electrical calculations.
Train and direct lower coded personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Must be a certified Journeyman Electrician by city or state
Must have a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Able to perform related mechanical duties
Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics
Ability to work from sketches, drawings and verbal instructions
Ability to work with multiple teams
Ability to understand simple math functions including decimals and fractions
Preferred:
Qualified in lock-out/tag-out procedures
Certified in Standard for Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E
Experience in jitney and crane operation
Self-directed individual
Ability to work in fast paced and precise manufacturing environment
Functional Requirements:
Ability to climb repeatedly and work from heights off ladders, platforms, and scaffolds
Repeated bending, reaching, stooping and crawling
Exposure to constant noise 90 DBA
Exposure to fumes/smoke from burning, paint vapors, dust and fiberglass
Prolonged walking/standing, sometimes on slippery or uneven surfaces
Moderate to heavy lifting
