Connecto Electric is looking for Journeyman Electricians to join our team!

Sign on Bonus - $1,500 (terms apply)

Role and Responsibilities

Journeymen Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Under the supervision of Foremen and Project Managers, they ensure work complies with relevant codes.

Other duties may include:

  • Planning layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Determining necessary tools and equipment; using power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of tool usage, including cable reels, screwdrivers, stripping tools, voltage or current meters, wire or cable cutters, etc.
  • Conducting tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Identifying causes of operating errors and deciding corrective actions.
  • Following blueprints to locate wiring or equipment and ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
  • Placing conduit, pipes, or tubing inside walls or partitions and pulling insulated wires or cables to complete circuits.
  • Performing physically demanding tasks such as trench digging and moving heavy objects.
  • Working with EMT conduit and having modest experience with rigid conduit.
  • Performing power distributions (transformers, panels, fenders, etc.).
  • Executing large and small wire pulls independently.
  • Possessing knowledge of special systems.
  • Establishing a team-oriented work environment and interacting appropriately with customers and the public.
  • Leading small construction projects as necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a Journeyman's card (completed 4 years of Apprenticeship) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of OSHA 10 certification.
Work Environment

This role involves fieldwork, including construction and maintenance tasks. Work hours are typically 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed. Conditions vary from indoor, clean environments to outdoor, scaffolding, or confined spaces, with potential exposure to noise, contaminants, and variable lighting conditions.

Physical Demands

This active role requires physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling materials, and repetitive movements. Tasks include climbing ladders or scaffolds, standing, walking, and using hands for control and manipulation.

Skills

First Aid/CPR/AED, Arc Flash safety, attention to detail, technical troubleshooting, basic safety practices, quality focus, email proficiency, resource and time management, and knowledge of materials, methods, and tools.
