Job summary

The City of Brenham seeks a Journeyman Lineworker to perform electric line construction and maintenance, service calls, pole changes, and related duties at energized sites. You will operate bucket trucks, digger trucks, and other equipment, and assist in line design and traffic control.

Requirements include a valid Texas CDL (A); high school graduation and four years of field experience or equivalent; on‑call duties for outages; safety compliance; and ability to read manuals and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent plus four years of field experience; or an equivalent combination.
  • Must have completed Journey Lineworker program or have qualifying experience.
  • Must possess a Texas CDL (A) license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and operates bucket truck and other line construction equipment.
  • Performs electric line construction, pole changes, and maintenance on energized structures.
  • Performs service calls and locates troubles for repairs.
  • Installs and repairs poles and electrical services; transfers wires on poles.
  • Performs on-call duties for outages; conducts safety briefings; traffic control at job sites.
  • Monitors loads and assists in design and construction of lines.
