Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems in Iowa is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, repair and adjust all mechanical components, and determine the nature and extent of repairs from work orders.

You will diagnose faults, overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, keep gear clean and lubricated, follow safety rules, and perform training requirements under the plan, with moderate supervision to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
• Completion of college or vocational or technical training is a plus.
• Waste industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals
• Keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained
• Diagnoses faults or malfunctions
• Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems
• Obey all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules
• Undertake the training and assessment required under the training plan
